SUFACHAIN: Products made from apricots
At the CLIENT Conference 2024, the SUFACHAIN project presented innovative products that promote sustainable value chains for walnut and apricot cultivation in Central Asia. On display are:
- Fruit balls made from dried apricots with sea buckthorn, rosehip and barberry, produced by SUFACHAIN partner Advantex from Kyrgyzstan.
- Fruit bars made from dried apricots, developed by TTZ Bremerhaven.
- Walnuts from the Jalalabad region and dried apricots from Alysh-Dan, as examples of sustainable production.
- Cosmetic products with walnut and apricot kernels as exfoliating particles, which replace microplastics and make high-quality use of processing by-products – including foot and body scrubs, creams and cleansing products.
These product innovations demonstrate how sustainable land use, resource efficiency and regional value creation can go hand in hand. For more information on SUFACHAIN, visit the project page.
