CLIENT II Kick-Off Conference 2019

Representatives of all the joint research projects approved under the CLIENT II initiative – funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) – came together for the first time on 17 and 18 September 2019 at the “Umweltforum” in Berlin. The participants were presented with a varied and interactive conference programme. After a warm welcome by Dr. Christian Alecke, representing the hosting ministry BMBF, they were able to exchange ideas and discuss current challenges in their respective focal areas. On the second day, workshops offered tips and ideas on various cross-cutting topics relevant to all the projects, including intercultural communication, public relations, business modelling, capacity building and involvement in international environmental agreements.

Professional work aside, the CLIENT II conference left plenty of room to unwind and have fun. Around the marketplace and during dinner (accompanied by a jazz band) the participants were able to network and reflect together on the presentations and discussions throughout the day.

CLIENT Conference 2021

The event kicked off on 26 October with the opening speech by the BMBF and two renowned keynote speakers at the Umweltforum in Berlin. As only 50 people were present due to the Corona requirements, the speeches were also broadcast via livestream.

Afterwards, the entire programme moved to the virtual space: Over the course of three days, the German and international project partners participated in various workshops and exchange formats with a wide range of topics. A conference app took on the role of virtual conference venue. Here, the more than 250 participants could come together, network and exchange ideas on sustainable innovations. The Twitter wall also collected all the tweets about the conference under the hashtag #CLIENTconference2021.

CLIENT Conference 2024
