CLIENT II project Locust-Tec featured in FONA newsletter
The CLIENT II project Locust-Tec is researching innovative technologies for dealing with the rise in locust outbreaks and infestations, due to the increasing threat they pose to agriculture, global food security and the environment. The latest issue of the FONA newsletter includes a report on the project.
Since 2018, the German-Kazakh project Locust-Tec has been developing innovative solutions for monitoring and predicting locust outbreaks as well as environmentally friendly techniques for controlling them. Thus, Locust-Tec helps to reduce insecticide use and supports the creation of local and resilient structures for the prevention and management of locust infestations. The FONA newsletter of the Federal Ministry of Research and Education (BMBF) now reports on Locust-Tec and takes an in-depth look at the project.
