On 28 October 2019, the kick-off meeting for the BMBF joint project "SAND! - Sand Supply Alternatives and Mitigation of River Dredging Hazards in Vietnam" took place in the Vietnamese pilot region An Giang in the Mekong Delta. The kick-off meeting enabled the German partners to meet the Vietnamese partners for the "SAND" project. In addition to the partners, the kick-off meeting provided an opportunity to get in touch with the local project management agency An Giang People's Committee.  The members of the local committee came from different departments.
