EnerSHelF kick-off workshop in Accra, Ghana
On 5 September 2019, the kick-off workshop for the EnerSHelF project began in Ghana. Around 18 workshop participants, as well as members of German and Ghanaian institutes, met in the capital Accra. The workshop aimed to define and allocate individual work packages, as well as provide an opportunity for the project partners to get better acquainted. The German delegation presented the project to the Ghanaian Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, and other high-level policy makers from the Ministry of Energy and Health and the Ghana Health Service. In addition, they visited St. Dominic’s Hospital in Akwatia and local PV systems.
As part of the joint EnerSHelF project, German researchers and practitioners from a wide range of disciplines are working together with Ghanaian partners on marketable, PV-based energy solutions for healthcare facilities in Ghana. The international project aims to contribute to sustainable economic, environmental and social development in Ghana.
