CLIENT II at COP 29 in Baku

At the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC COP 29) in Baku, Azerbaijan, the Institute for Biodiversity - Network e.V. (ibn) organised a side event entitled “Mitigation by Renewable Energy Solutions on industrial scales in Africa and Asia“.

The event focussed on the possibilities of saving energy in industrial processes and using renewable energy in order to avoid the use of fossil fuels and the associated CO2 emissions. Three projects from the CLIENT II funding programme presented their research results, namely EnaTex, LevelUp, and ButoVal. Michael Porzig (EnaTex, IZES), Stefan Pelz (LevelUp, Rottenburg University of Applied Forest Sciences) and Felix Flesch (ButoVal, University of Trier) were connected online as speakers. The event was organised and moderated by Axel Paulsch from ibn, who also gave a presentation on the CLIENT II funding measure. Around 40-50 people participated in the side event.
