High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF)

The 12th session of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will take place from 8 to 18 July 2024 in New York City, USA. This year’s theme is: “Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: The effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions”.

The forum will specifically address the progress of the implementation of the SDGs 1 (No Poverty), 2 (Zero Hunger), 13 (Climate Action), 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) and 17 (Partnerships to Achieve the Goals).

The HLPF is the main platform of the United Nations (UN) on Sustainable Development. It has a central role in the achievement and review of implementation of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development and it’s SDGs. All UN Member States as well as representatives from civil society organisations participate in the HLPF, which meets under the auspices of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
